4th. DAY: MANAUS / RIO NEGRO / RIO SOLIMÕES – boarding at 9:00 a.m. on the pier of the Tropical Hotel in Manaus. Amazon sabatina: quick explanation of fauna, flora, water basins, regional customs, study of maps for route mapping, distribution of the Ecotourism Primer in Anavilhanas and personalized maps in pdf format. Arrival to Lake Janauary, a rich Amazonian ecosystem filled with birds, reptiles, exotic plants and giant trees, bathed by the waters of the Solimões River, abundant in life and organic nutrients. Attraction for canoe trip around the region. Probable view of the Botos Tucuxi (Sotalia Fluviatilis), Pink (Inia Geoffrensis) and the birds of the season: Maguari (Ardea Cocoi), Herons (Casmerodius Albus), Arara-Canindé (Ara Ararauna), Papagaioda-Várzea Festiva), Socós (Tigrisoma Lineatum), Japiins (Cacicus Cela), Japó (Psarocolius Decumanus). Arirambas (Galbulidae), Victoria Regia (Victoria Amazonica). On the way back, we continue our navigation to the Solimões River. Lunch on board. We arrived at the Encontro das Águas, where Rio Negro and Rio Solimões run side by side for more than 9 km. We follow the navigation towards the Archipelago of Anavilhanas, Rio Negro above. Dinner on board, night sailing.

5th. DAY: RIO NEGRO / RIO ARIAÚ / ACAJATUBA – The day dawns on the Rio Negro, where a settlement of Indians from the Upper Rio Negro resides. After breakfast on board, we descend to the village where we witness a rustic presentation of its traditional customs. Dance, a bit of history and crafts. After the presentation, exchange in Tuiuka and Tukano native language. Lunch on board. We follow navigation to the Rio Ariaú, a beautiful course of black waters, with characteristic vegetation and peculiar attractions like giant trees, with the optional to realize Tree Climbing. High incidence of fauna. Aquatic trail activity with piranha fishery and likely interaction with monkeys. After dinner, focus on alligators and other nocturnal animals.

6th. DAY: ARCHIPELAGO OF ANAVILHANAS – The day dawns in the heart of the second largest fluvial archipelago in the world. We sailed to the encounter with Pink Botos in an appropriate floating house. Next we will get to know the Pirarucu, the largest scale fish in the world, also known as the Lion of the Amazon. Return to the boat, lunch on board. Navigation to the village cabocla of the Miriti, visit the flour house, regional fruit orchard. 2hs trekking in primary forest for appreciation of fauna and flora of terra firme. Immersion in central lagoon in the middle of the forest (available in the flood). Dinner on board as we sail back to the heart of the Anavilhanas National Park.

7th. DAY: ANAVILHANAS / MANAUS – The day dawns in the forest, to the sound of birds. Regional breakfast on the boat. Sunrise on the inner lakes of the archipelago, with the possibility of viewing sloths, porpoises and macaws, toucans and other birds on waterways. Return navigation, arrival at Novo Airão. 4th. DAY: MANAUS / NEW AIRÃO / ANAVILHANAS – Transfer Hotel Man >> Novo Airão boat: boarding at 9 am in a heated car. Arrival in Novo Airão near lunchtime. Lunch on board. Beginning of the Katerre Expedition by the Anavilhanas archipelago. Amazon sabatina: quick explanation of fauna, flora, water basins, regional customs, study of maps for route mapping, distribution of the EcoTurismo Booklet in Rio Negro and personalized maps in pdf format. Anchorage to waterways through the igapós, holes and lakes of the Anavilhanas Archipelago. Probably the most important species in this study are the Tucuxi (Sotalia Fluviatilis), Pink (Inia Geoffrensis) and the birds of the season: Maguari (Ardea Cocoi), Herons (Casmerodius Albus), Arara-Canindé (Ara Ararauna), Amazon Parrot Festiva), Socós (Tigrisoma Lineatum), Japiins (Cacicus Cela), Japó (Psarocolius Decumanus) and Arirambas (Galbulidae), among others. If Possible, stop for bath with buoys in Rio Negro. A light dinner is served on board. Overnight in the cabin of the boat in nocturnal navigation by the river Apuaú until the mouth of the Içapa Igarapé.

5th. DAY: WILD WATERFALLS OF THE AMAZON – The day dawns in the Apuaú region. After breakfast, we continue flying by the Içana stream to its main waterfall, with bathing, diving in the river and other water activities. Caboclo lunch: roasted fish on the grill and accompaniments. After a nap in the hammock, we started trekking from 1h30 in virgin forest to the waterfall of Igarapé do Trovão, another tributary of the Apuaú River. We arrived at the place for contemplation of two natural pools and check in at the camp already mounted by the Expedition katerre. Dinner, bonfire, stories of caboclo folklore. Overnight or tents at customer’s discretion.

6th. DAY: AMAZON WILDLIFE CIRCUIT – In the wake of the sounds of the forest, our team prepares breakfast, followed by leisure in the waterfall, natural pools and contemplation of the surrounding nature. On return, 2 options: return flight by the Thunder creek to the boat or return by the trail followed by canoeing in rafting style by Içapé Içana, of considerable current. Boarding and beginning of the return navigation to Rio Negro, with lunch on board. Relax-time in the comfort of the boat.

7th. DAY: NATIONAL PARK OF THE ANAVILHANAS – TERRA FIRME – We will dawn again in Rio Negro. After breakfast, visit a giant tree in the islands. Returning to the boat we begin navigation to Novo Airão. Interaction with Pink Botos. City tour by Novo Airão: crafts, craftsmen’s workshop, shipbuilding shipyards and city attractions. Farewell lunch at the Floating Restaurant of the Moonlight. Transfer Novo Airão – Manaus, arrival scheduled for 16h.

Lunch on board. Amazon sabatina: quick explanation of fauna, flora, water basins, regional customs, study of maps for route mapping, distribution of the EcoTurismo Booklet in Rio Negro and personalized maps in pdf format. Beginning of the Katerre Expedition by the Anavilhanas archipelago. Anchorage for fast flying sails through nearby islands and lakes. Probable view of the Botos Tucuxi (Sotalia Fluviatilis), Pink (Inia Geoffrensis) and the birds of the season: Maguari (Ardea Cocoi), Herons (Casmerodius Albus), Arara-Canindé (Ara Ararauna), Parrots (Amazona Festiva), Socós (Tigrisoma Lineatum), Japiins (Cacicus Cela), Japó (Psarocolius Decumanus) and Arirambas (Galbulidae), among others. Stop for bath with buoys in Rio Negro. Returning to the boat, we continue sailing to Mirante do Madada. A light dinner is served on board, overnight in the cabin of the boat or in hammocks in Mirante, a 2-storey bungalow with bathroom, in the middle of the forest, with a beautiful view of the Rio Negro.

5th. DAY: ANAVILHANAS / MADADÁ – The day dawns in Madada. Regional breakfast – fruits, jellies, tapioca, tucumã. Trekking from 3hs (round-trip) in primary forest to the caves of Madada. In the return, tour by caboclo site, orchard with period fruits, etc. Diving with buoys on the Rio Negro. Return to the vessel. We set off for Praia do Sono. Fishing for piranhas and visiting the community. Overnight anchored on the beach (dry) or in the igarapé (full).

6th. DAY: JAÚ NATIONAL PARK – The day dawns on Praia do Sono. On the way to the National Park of Jaú, stop to know the ruins of Airão Velho and petroglyphs (full). We set off for the ICMBIO base at the entrance of the Park. A short walk to visit the great Amazon tree, Samaúma. Navigating the Rio Jaú, river of mirrored waters, likely viewing of birds and aquatic mammals. Cheia Station: anchorage and incursion through the Igarapés of terra firme of the Park, in order to find Ariranhas (Pteronura Brasiliensis). Drought Station: Incursion by the Pauini river, exploring this great tributary full of waterfalls. Return to the boat, navigation to the community of Aturiá, nocturnal canoe ride along the river, with focus of alligators and nocturnal animals.

7th. DAY: JAÚ NATIONAL PARK – Anchorage in the Community of Aturiá – walk through the community, exchange with the residents, practice regional customs, orchard with seasonal fruits, flour house, children’s games, soccer, handicrafts. Visit a giant tree in the forest near the community. Aquatic trail in canoe of fishermen, for visualization of the monkey Bicó and other animals of the region. Bath in the Rio Jaú waterfall (dry season).

8th. DAY: NOVO AIRÃO / MANAUS – Return trip Jaú-Novo Airão. In Novo Airão, interaction with Corcovado Botos. City tour by Novo Airão, handicrafts, artisans workshop, and city attractions. Farewell lunch at the Floating Restaurant of the Moonlight. Transfer New Airão – Manaus, arrival scheduled for 3:30 pm.

Moments of leisure and contemplation of nature. Fishery of piranhas in Igarapé do Jaraqui. Return to the boat, lunch on board. Arrival at the site of Manuel’s caboclo, visit to flour house, regional fruit orchard. 2hs trekking in primary forest for appreciation of fauna and flora of terra firme. Dinner on board, while sailing.

DAY: JAÚ NATIONAL PARK – Anchorage in the Community of Aturiá – walk through the community, exchange with the residents, practice regional customs, orchard with seasonal fruits, flour house, children’s games, football, handicrafts, river diving , etc. Lunch on board. Trekking in primary forest to the Itaubal waterfall, in order to visualize mammals. Waterfall bath at the end of the trail. Return to ICMBIO base, departure from the park.

10th. DAY: NOVO AIRÃO / MANAUS – Return trip Jaú – Novo Airão. Interaction with Pink Botos. City tour by Novo Airão, handicrafts, artisans workshop, and city attractions. Farewell lunch at the Floating Restaurant of the Moonlight. Transfer Novo Airão – Manaus, arrival forecast: 3:30 pm.

4th. DAY: MANAUS / NOVO AIRÃO / ANAVILHANAS – Transfer Hotel Man >> Novo Airão boat: boarding at 09:00 h in an air conditioned car. Arrival in Novo Airão near lunchtime. Beginning of the Katerre Expedition by the Anavilhanas archipelago, lunch served on board. Amazon sabatina: quick explanation of fauna, flora, water basins, regional customs, study of maps for route mapping, distribution of the EcoTurismo Booklet in Rio Negro and personalized maps in pdf format. Anchorage to waterways through the igapós, holes and lakes of the Anavilhanas Archipelago. Probably the most important species in this study are the Tucuxi (Sotalia Fluviatilis), Pink (Inia Geoffrensis) and the birds of the season: Maguari (Ardea Cocoi), Herons (Casmerodius Albus), Arara-Canindé (Ara Ararauna), Amazon Parrot Festiva), Socós (Tigrisoma Lineatum), Japiins (Cacicus Cela), Japó (Psarocolius Decumanus) and Arirambas (Galbulidae), among others. Stop for bath with buoys in Rio Negro. Return to the boat where dinner is served on board. Overnight in the cabin of the boat in nocturnal navigation by the river Apuaú until the mouth of Içapa Igarapé.

5th. DAY: APUAÚ / WATERFALLS OF THE AMAZON – The day dawns in the Apuaú region. After breakfast, we continue flying by the Içana stream to its main waterfall, with bathing, diving in the river and other water activities. Caboclo lunch: roasted fish on the grill and accompaniments. After a snooze in the net, we started trekking from 1: 30h in virgin forest to the Igarapé do Guariba waterfall, another tributary of the Apuaú River. We arrived at the place for contemplation of two natural pools and check in at the camp already mounted by the Expedition katerre. Dinner, bonfire, stories of caboclo folklore. Overnight in the jungle bangalow of Katerre, equipped with kitchen and bathroom.

6th. DAY: AMAZON WILDLIFE CIRCUIT – In the wake of the sounds of the forest, our team prepares breakfast, followed by leisure in the waterfall, natural pools and contemplation of the surrounding nature. On return, 2 options: return flight by the Thunder creek to the boat or return by the trail followed by canoeing in rafting style by Içapé Içana, of considerable current. Embarkation and beginning of the navigation towards the National Park of Jaú, with lunch on board. Relax-time in the comfort of the boat.

7th. DAY: NATIONAL PARK OF JAÚ – The day dawns in the ruins of Airão Velho, near the base of the ICMBio, at the entrance of the Park. Visit to the historical ruins of this one that was the first western settlement of Rio Negro, in century XVII. Already in the Park, a short walk to visit two large Amazon trees, of the Samaúma species. Navigating the Rio Jaú, river of mirrored waters, likely viewing of birds and aquatic mammals. Estação da Cheia: anchorage and vole raid by the Igarapés of terra firme of the Park, in order to find Ariranhas (Pteronura Brasiliensis). Drought Station: Incursion by the Pauini river, exploring this great tributary full of waterfalls. Leisure activities, jumping, canoeing, according to the level of the river. Return to the boat for navigation to the Aturiá Community. Night canoe ride along the river, focusing on alligators and nocturnal animals.

8th. DAY: NATIONAL PARK OF JAÚ – Anchorage in the Community of the Aturiá »walk through the community, exchange with the residents, practice of regional customs, orchard with period fruits, flour house, children’s games, soccer, handicrafts, river diving , etc. Lunch on board. Drought Station: Visit to Samaúma of the waterfall, the oldest tree in the Park. Bath in the Rio Jaú waterfall. Cheia Station: Canoeing with local guides through the island of the Monkeys, to see the Macaco Bicó, birds and other possible species of the Amazonian fauna. Return navigation to the ICMBio base, exit from the park. Night navigation to the region of Madada.

9th. DAY: ANAVILHANAS / GROTAS DO MADADA – The day dawns in the region of Madada. Regional breakfast – fruits, jellies, tapioca, tucumã. Trekking from 3h (round trip) in primary forest to Madada Caves, viewing of specific fauna. In the return, tour by orchard with period fruits. Diving with buoys on the Rio Negro. Lunch is served at Mirante do Madada. Rest in hammocks, contemplation of the beautiful view to the Anavilhanas Archipelago. Fishery of piranhas in the stream of Thunder.

10th. DAY: NEW AIRÃO / MANAUS – Return trip to Novo Airão. Interaction with Botos Color Botos. City tour by Novo Airão, handicrafts, artisans workshop, and city attractions. Farewell lunch on the boat. Transfer New Airão – Manaus, arrival scheduled for 3:30 pm.

Beginning of the Katerre Expedition by the Anavilhanas archipelago. Anchorage for fast flying sails through nearby islands and lakes. Probable view of the Botos Tucuxi (Sotalia Fluviatilis), Pink (Inia Geoffrensis) and the birds of the season: Maguari (Ardea Cocoi), Herons (Casmerodius Albus), Arara-Canindé (Ara Ararauna), Parrots (Amazona Festiva), Socós (Tigrisoma Lineatum), Japiins (Cacicus Cela), Japó (Psarocolius Decumanus) and Arirambas (Galbulidae), among others. Stop for bath with buoys in Rio Negro. Returning to the boat, we continue sailing to Mirante do Madada. A light dinner is served on board, overnight in the cabin of the boat or in hammocks in Mirante, a 2-storey bungalow with bathroom, in the middle of the forest, with a beautiful view of the Rio Negro.

5th. DAY: ANAVILHANAS / MADADÁ – The day dawns in Madada. Regional breakfast – fruits, jellies, tapioca, tucumã. Trekking from 3hs (round-trip) in primary forest to the caves of Madada. In the return, tour by caboclo site, orchard with period fruits, etc. Diving with buoys on the Rio Negro. Return to the vessel. We set off for Praia do Sono. Fishing for piranhas and visiting the community. Overnight anchored on the beach (dry) or in the igarapé (full).

6th. DAY: JAÚ NATIONAL PARK – The day dawns on Praia do Sono. On the way to the Jaú National Park, stop to meet Airão Velho, Mirituba riverside community and petroglyphs. We set off for the ICMBIO base at the entrance of the Park. A short walk to visit the great Amazon tree, Samaúma. Navigating the Rio Jaú, river of mirrored waters, likely viewing of birds and aquatic mammals. Estação da Cheia: anchorage and vole raid by the Igarapés of terra firme of the Park, in order to find Ariranhas (Pteronura Brasiliensis). 7th. DAY: RIO JAUAPERI / IGARAPÉ DO MATIAS – Navigation through the Encosta dos Pássaros, to the village of Moura, which is the largest community of Rio Negro, with about 700 inhabitants. Disembarkation, local exchange. This is the last location for possible purchase of conveniences. Return to navigation, entrance to the Jauaperi River. Near Sunset, we arrived in the Xixuaú community at the beginning of the reservation.

8th. DAY: XIXUAÚ RESERVE – After breakfast, disembark in the Xixuaú community, reconnaissance tour, exchange with residents. Preparation of the group for the aquatic trails in the lakes and igapós of the reserve, in small canoes to oar (2 passengers max), with local guide, for observation of birds and aquatic mammals. Personalized treatment. Visualization of giant otters, porpoises, toucans, probable arboreal monkeys collecting fruits in the igapó, among other animals. Ariranhas in the igarapé of the storey Ariranhas The Jaburu is the greater fisherwoman of the region. Return of the tour, lunch on board. Visit to Samaúma, giant tree, largest tree species in the region. Incursion with canoes to oar in the lakes for recreational fishing, advancing until the mouth of the night. Special attention to the Guaribas singing, audible during the night and soon at dawn. Focus of alligators and nocturnal animals.

9th. DAY: XIXUAÚ RESERVE – Before breakfast, alligator watching by the river, in the harbor of the community. Breakfast on board. After breakfast in the village maloca, mini-expedition to camp with overnight in the forest, in a privileged place for wildlife observation (optional included). The route to the place is made of canoe, in crystalline water streams, with stops for diving with masks in observation of the submerged aquatic life. Assembly of the camp, construction of the tapiri (house where we assemble the nets). Lunch. Menu of the day: fish caught on the spot with garnishes brought from the boat. Bonfire, chat, tales and folklore of the forest creatures – Mapinguary, Matinta-Perêra, Curupira, Cobra Grande. Overnight in tapiri nets.

10th DAY: XIXUAÚ RESERVATION – We sail along the Jauaperi River to the Matias Igarapé, where we know a model of alternative Community School, with practices of environmental education and diffusion of the local culture. The day dawns in the forest. Breakfast preparation. Trekking of 3hs in primary forest, kills in, in order to visualize terrestrial birds and mammals (Monkeys, Antas, Preguiças, Queixadas), and all the sounds that the Amazonian biodiversity offers us. Moments of contemplation in special places. Return for boat, lunch on board. Farewell meeting in the central maloca, local handicraft exhibition, caipirinha of fraternization. At 3 pm, Start of non-stop navigation.

11th. DAY: NEW AIRÃO / MANAUS – Arrival in Novo Airão scheduled for 10:00 a.m. in the morning. Observation of Cetaceans on floating Pink Boto. City tour by Novo Airão, handicrafts, craftsmen’s workshop, shipbuilding shipyards and city attractions. Farewell lunch at the Floating Restaurant of the Moonlight. Transfer N Airão – Manaus, arrival scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
